Will I need to rent a modem from AT&T if I already have an Apple Airport Base Station & Wireless Airport Card? I want to know the best option for internet service in my home. Would rather not rent the modem if I can just buy one from Apple. Is this possible? Yes, you will need the modem to connect to the internet. The Airport base will obtain internet access via the modem and then transmit the wirless signal to the Airport card. You do have the option of purchasing the modem rather than buying, but Apple does not sell them.
